Second book recommendation
Second blog book
recommendation:
The Rose Simpson
Mysteries, by Margaret Addison
Enjoy a fun whodunit?
Quite obviously I do, and so does Addison. She says her desire was to write a
series using the time period and background of the mysteries she enjoys the
most, those of what is known as the golden age of British mysteries, roughly
1925 to 1955.
Three of the most
well-known authors who wrote prolifically in those years are Agatha Christie,
Dorothy Sayers, and Margery Allingham.
There are several Rose Simpson
mysteries available, and after reading only one of them so far I’m very
comfortable recommending this author. Her female sleuth is someone you can warm
to. The mystery itself was well thought out and brought to a believable
conclusion. It is well written, and the price is right. At the time of this
post the e-book version is only $2.99.
For those of us who prefer
a ‘real’ book in our hands, you can get soft cover copies for a few dollars
more.
When you need some time to
put your cares aside, relax, and read something just for fun, consider this
series.
Thanks, MaryJo. I look forward to making the acquaintance of this author.
